Young Playwright Celebration
Unleash the next generation of playwrighting legends! The Young Playwright Celebration is where creativity meets the spotlight. Students from across Southwest Washington submit their original scripts, and the best of the best are selected for a staged reading performed by professional actors. It’s part competition, part masterclass, and entirely magical. Who knows—your student’s work could be the next Broadway smash (or at least a very impressive addition to their college application).
Southwest Washington High School Theater Awards
Move over, Oscars—here come the Southwest Washington High School Theater Awards! This annual event honors the dazzling performances, awe-inspiring set designs, and jaw-dropping costumes created by our local high school theater programs. From “Best Lead Actor” to “Most Innovative Use of Glitter,” these awards recognize the hard work and passion of students and teachers alike. It’s the glitziest, most theatrical night of the year, complete with acceptance speeches and the occasional (well-deserved) humblebrag.
Internships
Calling all future directors, designers, and stagehands: this is your backstage pass to the world of professional theater! Our internship program gives students and emerging artists hands-on experience in everything from lighting and sound to production management. You won’t just fetch coffee—you’ll learn the ropes, make connections, and maybe even get to yell “Places!” like a real pro.
